A Masachussetts man rushed to the hospital for a collapsed lung received an unusual diagnosis – a pea plant growing inside the lung. Ron Sveden, who was already battling emphysema, feared he had cancer and was a bit relieved that his x-rays showed something rather unusual instead – a pea plant!
Doctors believe he probably ate a pea that “went down the wrong way” at some point, and it later sprouted.
Looks like those stories we used to believe as kids about swallowing seeds which would later grow might not be too far off. Uh oh!
